Timika Shafeek-Horton
Timika Shafeek-Horton is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. From 1993-1994, she served as a law clerk to Richard C. Erwin, Senior United States District Court Judge, Middle District North Carolina. From 1994-2000, she served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina.
In 2000, Timika joined Duke Energy Corporation's Law Department as Senior Counsel supporting commercial operations. From 2002 to 2006, she supported nuclear operations. Currently, as Associate General Counsel, Timika manages litigation for Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC.
Timika is an active member of the Mecklenburg County Bar where she serves on the Bar Candidates and Diversity Committees. She is Vice-Chair of the Corporate Counsel Council of the North Carolina Bar Association and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Bar's Lawyers for Entrepreneurial Assistance Program. She is Vice-Chair of Smart Start of Mecklenburg County and formerly served as Board President of the Mental Health Association of Central Carolinas.
